Good advice can help you build a brighter future
Published 26 February 2021
Did you know that superannuation funds such as LGIAsuper have financial advisers who can help you plan your financial future?
Your super could be one of the most valuable assets you ever have. It can be the key to enjoying a comfortable retirement – but how often do you plan how to achieve your goals?
Planning can be difficult on your own. That's where financial advice comes in.
LGIAsuper's team of qualified professionals can provide advice and guidance on your superannuation and your future.
Anyone can benefit from financial advice – at any stage in life, and any account balance size.
What is financial advice?
Getting financial advice can help you create a plan for reaching the level of income you want in retirement.
A financial adviser can help you consider different ways to grow your super. They can help you to make informed decisions around contributions, tax savings and investment options.
There are broadly two types of financial advice:
- General advice - covers broad recommendations that do not take into account your personal objectives, financial situation or needs.
- Personal advice – covers specific recommendations that consider your personal objectives, financial situation or needs. This type of advice is provided by qualified financial advisers.
Trusted and reliable advice from LGIAsuper
LGIAsuper offers both general and personal advice*.
1. General advice
LGIAsuper’s general advice can be provided over the phone and is available to LGIAsuper members at no additional cost.
Our team of superannuation specialists are all qualified and authorised to provide general advice.
You can call us for general advice about super on 1800 444 396. We are open weekdays 8.00am to 5.30pm (not public holidays).
Sometimes a simple check-up on the health of your super can help you decide how much advice you need. A Super Health Check is a 30-minute phone or video call with one of specialists, at no additional cost. Your administration fee already covers this service.
A Super Health Check is general advice, and does not consider your personal objectives, financial situation or needs. We look at your super's current health, discuss different ways to grow it, and check that you are on track for a comfortable retirement.
2. Personal advice
LGIAsuper’s team of qualified financial advisers provide personal advice.
Our financial advisers are paid a salary and do not receive commissions, fees or bonuses for the recommendations or advice they give you. That means you can trust LGIAsuper to help you plan for your future.
We offer our members two types of personal advice – single issue advice (provided at no additional cost) and comprehensive advice (paid advice depending upon the complexity of your needs), as listed in the table below.
